Peter Ash Lee, The Last Mermaid Opening Thursday, July 18, we are thrilled to present "The Last Mermaid," Peter Ash Lee’s first solo exhibition in New York. “The Last Mermaid” delves into the lives of the Haenyeo, the fearless women divers from Jeju Island. In December 2018, Lee traveled to Jeju Island to photograph these extraordinary women who have been harvesting seafood for over two thousand years to sustain their families and preserve their cultural heritage. "The Last Mermaid" highlights their strength, resilience, and the urgent need to protect their way of life in the face of climate change.
