Pleats Vase No.10

The Pleats Vase was inspired by the split surface of firewood, where repetitive actions yield distinctive, organic results. I aim to highlight the essence of the material by emphasizing the natural properties of wood. The grain is arranged to create a pleated texture, transforming a solid piece into something that resembles soft fabric. Though fragile in appearance, the vessel is strong, with the inner wood grain now facing outward to reveal its intrinsic beauty. The entire process fosters an intangible bond between me and the wood.
