"Consumer technology often reinforces a disconnect between users and makers, leaving people unaware of how their devices function and feeling incapable of repairing, altering, or critiquing them. By incorporating traditional craft techniques into Wi-Fi router design, I aim to reconnect technology with a more holistic design framework—one that acknowledges its materiality and role in everyday life. Inspired by practices such as birch bark box making and greenwoodworking, these cases offer an alternative to the typical concealment of technology, embracing visible, tactile, and repairable forms—objects users could build themselves."
Thank you for contacting the Lyle Gallery! Your inquiry was submitted successfully. We'll be in touch soon.
All items purchased from the Gathered exhibition will ship after the show closes. Many of the pieces are delicate and handmade, so we recommend in-person pick-up at Lyle Gallery whenever possible—that’s the safest option and helps ensure your piece arrives in perfect condition.
If you require shipping, we’ll carefully pack each item and send it out once the exhibition has ended. For international orders, please email us at info@thelyle.gallery for a custom shipping quote based on your location and the object’s size and fragility.
