ATELIER FALAISE / CAMILLE TAN
Suspension 49, 2025
Rock, Wood, Iron, Copper
12.5 x 12.5"

My home is a cave filled with the most charismatic and aesthetic objects I’ve collected throughout my life—each one carrying its own narrative and memory. This piece features palm tree wood from Colombia and wenge wood from Congo, both intricately carved. It also incorporates an iron ball from an old marbles game and a mini plumb used for fishing. Blended with iron and copper, this suspension reflects the layered stories of its diverse, storied materials.

Camille Tan is a Brussels-based artist and founder of Atelier Falaise, a studio at the intersection of sculpture, design, and functional craft. His practice centers on physical tension—both in process and form—often using collected materials to explore fragility, force, and transformation. His suspended mobiles made from wood, stone, and metal reflect a deep engagement with balance and time.
