The Fisherman, 2025
Porcelain, glaze, black walnut
5.25" H x 8.5" W x 5" D
"This piece was inspired by the island I grew up on: Martha's Vineyard. Much of my childhood was spent sitting in nature, watching it come alive if I stayed still. I was especially drawn to egrets—the small Snowy and larger Great Egret—whose precise movements through the water embodied stillness, intention, and focus. I aimed to capture these moments in this teapot, which is thrown and assembled from black porcelain, then carved and inlaid with a gradient of porcelain slips. The handle was turned from black walnut by Joyce Kutty."

All items purchased from the Gathered exhibition will ship after the show closes. Many of the pieces are delicate and handmade, so we recommend in-person pick-up at Lyle Gallery whenever possible—that’s the safest option and helps ensure your piece arrives in perfect condition.
If you require shipping, we’ll carefully pack each item and send it out once the exhibition has ended. For international orders, please email us at info@thelyle.gallery for a custom shipping quote based on your location and the object’s size and fragility.
