Karina Sharif

Karina Sharif, a multidisciplinary paper artist from Brooklyn, NY, explores wearable and non-wearable sculpture, centering on the divine, Black, femme experience. Her work focuses on rest, adornment, and sensory encounters, offering therapy and restitution for Black bodies and minds. Originally from Boston, she studied at Pratt Institute and worked in fashion before transitioning to paper art in 2019. Combining nearly 20 years of sewing and styling, Sharif’s work has appeared at New York Fashion Week and GANNI INC., with her piece SEATED #1 on permanent display.
